This poster reveals a moment of shock: how traumas repeat themselves even in words. From October 7th to the bombings that follow, all civilian violence is unacceptable. Art attempts to make the unspeakable heard when diplomacy is no longer enough.
In 2022, during the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, I adapted the poster by removing religious symbols and leaving the background blank to convey a sense of speechlessness. Do I need to create another version? Sadly, no. The latest version applies to any war, and is, unfortunately, infinitely recyclable.
A poster commissioned by a member of the eponymous movement, exhibited at the 28th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, in May 2023. As well exhibited at the 18th International Biennial of the Poster in Mexico, in October 2024. Awarded at the 23rd Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition, in September 2024.
A poster commissioned by La Tête Noire Theatre (France) to advertise a children’s play, was awarded the First Prize at the 18th International Biennial of Theatre Posters of Rzeszow, Poland, in 2022, as well as the Honorable mention at the 16th International Biennial of the Poster in Mexico, the same year.
