A Tolerance Project Ambassador in France
It is with pride that I took the initiative to introduce the international Tolerance-Project.org to France for the first time. Founded by New York-based Bosnian designer Mirko Ilić, this traveling exhibition has already visited more than 49 countries and reached nearly 600,000 people worldwide before making its stop in Blois from February 12 to March 16, 2025.
A Successful Dual Exhibition in Blois
The event was deployed in two complementary formats: a selection of 60 posters presented at the Center for Resistance, Deportation and Memory (CRDM) in Blois, and an exceptional urban display of 45 large-format works (120 x 175 cm) on city billboards from February 18 to 24.
This French premiere was enthusiastically received, transforming the streets of Blois into a true open-air gallery. The public discovered the creative wealth of international designers who, beyond linguistic and cultural differences, share the same message of peace and acceptance. Each poster, bearing the word Tolerance in the creator’s native language, contributed to this unique visual mosaic.
An Exhibition Particularly Relevant in Today’s Context
This exhibition takes on its full meaning in the current context. I am particularly appreciative of the City of Blois’ commitment to making it an educational tool for schools. The dialogue that these posters can generate between teachers and students is one of the most beautiful possible achievements of this project. By encouraging discussions about acceptance, respect for differences, and living together, these visual works offer a concrete support for addressing essential civic values in the classroom.
In addition to the exhibition, I had the pleasure of giving a conference at the ETIC design school. This exchange allowed students and the public to explore the power of the poster as a tool for civic expression and a vector for social dialogue.
Bringing the Tolerance Project to multiple French Locations
